Siegfried Kracauer stands out as one of the most significant theorists and critics of the twentieth century, acclaimed for his analyses of film and popular culture. About the Author
Siegfried Kracauer (18891966) was a German Jewish social theorist, journalist, and critic. After the Nazis accession to power, he left Germany for Paris and emigrated to the United States in 1941. His books include The Mass Ornament, The Salaried Masses, From Caligari to Hitler, and Theory of Film.
